It adopts advanced CLOS+ multi-level multi-plane orthogonal switching architecture. It can provide superior forwarding performance and rich wide area traffic scheduling features.

S12500R is a professional switching router in the industry. It can provide a maximum of 3072 10G/25G ports or 768 40G/100G/400G ports in a single machine, providing ultra-high density 10g, 25G and high-density 40G, 100G and 400G capabilities. Facing the characteristics of WAN traffic burst, the innovative use of "distributed entry cache" technology, can realize the data cache 200ms, to meet the requirements of IPRAN, DCI and other network scenarios of burst traffic; At the same time, it supports independent control engine, detection engine and maintenance engine, providing powerful control capability and high reliability guarantee of 50ms for the system. Comware V9 container operating system
S12500R adopts Comware V9, a new generation of operating system independently developed by Xinhua III. The series will still support Comware V7.

Intelligent connection based on SRv6
* SRv6 is a future-oriented new-generation protocol, which naturally supports IPv6 and meets the needs of mass address space access. SRv6 identifies applications and tenants, enabling intelligent uplink selection, such as delay and bandwidth, to ensure SLA. At the same time, SRv6 implements a unified protocol and simplifies the configuration.

* SRv6 uses 128bit Segment to define network functions. Then, a series of forwarding and processing behaviors of network devices can be realized by arranging the Segment, so as to complete business orchestration. Compared with MPLS SR, the protocol has better scalability and compatibility with the SDN controller. It is more suitable for deployment in DCI and MAN scenarios.

* The notable feature of SRv6 is that the forwarding surface uses IPV6, and it is easier to realize the interconnection of different networks based on IPV6 reachabability. In the domain, SRV6 mode is used for forwarding, while in the interdomain, it is only necessary to use common IPV6 forwarding. There is no need to convert MPLS into IP and do a large number of complex configurations.

Build flexible Ethernet based on FlexE technology
* As a technical architecture based on Ethernet and industrial chain expansion, FlexE technology fully reuses existing IEEE 802.3 Ethernet physical layer standards, lightweight enhancements at MAC/PCS logic layer, flexible multi-rate interface, and seamless connection with IP technology. In the IP/Ethernet technology system to better meet the needs of large bandwidth, flexible speed and channel isolation, in line with the development trend of technology and industry. The rise of video, 5G and other businesses, as well as the improvement of FlexE technology and enhanced functions, are accelerating the formation of FlexE industry chain.

* Based on FlexE, 5G network segmentation can be realized to meet the bearer requirements of different services through the segmentation of network resources and ensure the SLA of services (such as bandwidth and delay). Different services (such as eMBB enhanced bandwidth, automatic driving, uRLLC and mass IOT interconnection) can be hosted in the same IP network.

* Based on FlexE, hard pipeline special lines for key customers can be realized, and hard pipeline technology can be adopted in IP network. For the bearer of important special lines and low-delay sensitive services, end-to-end rigid pipelines can be constructed through FlexE channel function. In statistically reusable IP networks, this end-to-end FlexE hardpipe line can provide quality of service for specific high-value customer services while taking full advantage of the existing network infrastructure.

* Flexible networking of IP+Optical is implemented by FlexE. FlexE, as the UNI interface between router and optical transmission network devices, can match the actual data flow bandwidth carried by UNI interface with the bandwidth carried by NNI interface and WDM link of optical transmission network by rate matching. This greatly simplifies the mapping of the router's FlexE interface to optical transmission network transmission devices, reducing device complexity, CAPEX and OPEX maintenance costs.

* FlexE Bonding is essentially a "L1 LAG (LinkAggregation)" technology. Based on FlexE bundling technology, a link with a larger bandwidth can be constructed by combining interface rates and bundling based on detailed 64/66B blocks. The problem of unbalanced traffic distribution on multiple links with traditional LAG does not exist, and the bandwidth distribution can be 100% balanced.

* S12500R series switches support Virtual eXtensible LAN (VXLAN), the Layer 2 VPN technology based on IP networks that uses MAC in UDP encapsulation. Based on the existing service provider or enterprise IP network, the VXLAN can provide Layer 2 interconnection for scattered physical sites and isolate services for different tenants.

* S12500R series switches support Ethernet Virtual Private networks (EVPN). EVPN is a layer 2 VPN technology. The control plane uses MP-BGP to advertise EVPN routing information. The data plane supports VXLAN encapsulation to forward packets.

* The system supports a maximum of 64 KB hardware queues, and supports refined QoS and traffic management. It can accurately allocate different priorities and queues to different users and traffic flows based on requirements, ensuring different bandwidth, service delay, and jitter performance.

Comprehensive maintenance inspection mechanism
* Online status detection mechanism, through the dedicated maintenance engine, can realize the equipment switching network board, backplane communication channel, service communication channel, key chips, memory, etc. If a module is faulty, the fault is reported to the EMS.

* S12500R series fans adopt efficient PWM speed control fans, supporting stepless speed control. The system automatically collects the temperature of the board, calculates the fan speed control curve based on the actual device condition, and sends the fan speed control command to the fan frame. The system supports fan status monitoring (speed monitoring, fault alarm). Automatic zone speed control based on the ambient temperature and board configuration reduces power consumption and running noise, effectively reduces ambient noise, and prolongs the service life of fans.
