* The hardware orthogonal design, S10500X-G wire card and the switching network board is completely orthogonal (90 degrees), cross line card traffic directly on the switching network board through the orthogonal connector, backplane line is reduced to zero, greatly avoid signal attenuation;

* Supports high-density GE, 10GE, 25GE, 40GE, and 100GE Ethernet ports to meet future application requirements.

* The system is deeply optimized. It only takes 100 seconds from device power-on to traffic forwarding (100-second flow through), greatly reducing service interruption time;

The service board is connected to the main control board, and the switch board. When one switch board fails, the system automatically distributes traffic to other switch boards.

Distributed multi-engine design
S10500X-G adopts innovative hardware design, and provides powerful control capability and millisecond level high reliability guarantee for the system through fully distributed independent control engine, detection engine and maintenance engine:

* Distributed control engine, all business boards provide a powerful control and processing system, easy to process a variety of protocol messages and control messages, and support fine control of protocol messages, to provide the system with perfect anti-attack capability of protocol messages.

* Distributed detection engine: All SPUs can perform fast fault detection, such as BFD and OAM, in a distributed manner and interwork with the protocols of the control plane to support fast protection switching and fast convergence, realizing millisecond level fault detection and ensuring service continuity.

* Distributed maintenance engine and intelligent CPU The system supports intelligent power management, checking device online status, and sequential power-on and power-off of boards (reducing the power impact caused by simultaneous power-on of boards, increasing the service life of the devices, and reducing electromagnetic radiation and system power consumption).

Network virtualization technology
• Support Multichassis Link Aggregation Group (M-LAG) cross-device link aggregation technology (original DRNI technology). By virtualizing two physical devices into one device at the forwarding layer, cross-device link aggregation is realized and the control layer is independent from each other. This improves board level reliability to device level reliability.

• Supports Multitenant Devices Context (MDC). A switch can be divided into multiple independent virtual switches. Virtual switches provided by the MDC are isolated from each other and cannot directly communicate with each other, providing high security. Virtual switches have independent hardware resources and management rights, meeting the requirement that multiple services or customers share core switches, saving the cost of purchasing new network devices and upgrading network devices.

A comprehensive IPv6 solution
The S10500X-G series switches fully support the IPv6 protocol family, including IPv6 static routing, RIPng, OSPFv3, IS-ISv6, and BGP4+ routing protocols, and support a variety of IPv4 to IPV6 transition technologies, including: Tunnel technologies, such as IPv6 manual tunnel, 6to4 tunnel, ISATAP tunnel, and GRE tunnel, ensure smooth transition from IPv4 to IPv6.

Excellent security mechanism
H3C S10500X-G provides a perfect security protection mechanism, which can comprehensively guarantee the security of the network from the three planes of control, management and forwarding:

* On the control plane, a protocol packet attack identification module IS built in to prevent TCN and ARP packet attacks. The OSPF/BGP/IS-IS routing protocol uses MD5 authentication to prevent network breakdown caused by invalid update packets. Supports trusted computing, and enables trusted authentication and trusted measurement of startup software.

* On the management plane, SNMPv3, SSH V2, 802.1x, AAA/Radius user authentication, and hierarchical user rights management ensure the security of device management.

* On the forwarding plane, multiple combinations of IP addresses, vlans, MAC addresses, and ports are supported. Supports uRPF unicast reverse path forwarding to prevent illegal traffic from accessing the network and uses the longest matching per-packet forwarding mechanism to effectively resist virus attacks. The new upgrade supports full-port hardware-level encryption technology MACsec (802.1ae). The key length can be up to 256bits, protecting Layer 2 protocols from attacks at the root. In addition, the Cloudsec encryption technology is supported to ensure service traffic security based on VXLAN
